Back in 2018 my family decided to take a trip to visit the twenty-one mile long island named Aruba. Although it is very tiny that doesn’t mean you felt trapped in anyway going to visit. Trust me when I say they get their name “One Happy Island” because they truly are nice and genuine people that live there. Most of our trip consisted of relaxing on the beach and by the pool during the day and then indulging in amazing food at night. But the one excursion we did do while we were there lasted four hours with multiple pit stops along the way of formations and cliffs for us to see. This tour was definitely on more of the wild side for my family, but we had a blast doing it. We rented out two UTV’s for our trip so my parents were in one while Courtney and I were in the other. The tour group we went through was named Around Aruba Tours and boy was it the off-roading adventure that they promised. The tour that we did was called the Aruba UTV Adventure and for this tour they had vehicles that fit two, or four people in one. The UTV cost for a double was $210 and four people was $240. What made this tour more intriguing was the fact that they also picked you up from your accommodations on the way there and dropped you back off afterwards at no additional charge. When we first showed up to the tour site they allowed people to walk around their animal sanctuary beforehand and feed the animals for free. I was a little nervous at first to get that close to them, but it was pretty cool to experience. The locations you are able to see during this trip were the Alto Vista Chapel, Baby Bridge, Bushiribana Ruins, Wariruri Beach, Natural Bridge, Shark Bay, Andicuri Beach, Three Bridges, Black Stone Beach, Boca Pool with cliff jumping, and Ayo Rock Formation. Some of the guidelines about this excursion is that passengers must be at least 6 years old to be in the vehicle and that you can’t drive unless you are 18 years or older with a valid drivers license. My sister Courtney was not thrilled to find out this information at first, but I think after she saw how fast everyone was going she was happy she wasn’t the one behind the wheel. Since I didn’t have experience beforehand of driving a UTV I will not sugar-coat the fact that the guides drove fast and I felt like at times I was going to fly out of the car, but you must keep your speed even with rocks and hills so that you don’t fall behind the group. This took some getting used too, but after a while I got more comfortable with it. The bandana’s were also included, and they were highly recommended because of all the dust and dirt that would be flying in your face. As well as wearing water shoes were recommended so that you could go swimming in them as well as drive in them. At the end of our trip we were covered in dirt and dust and I felt like I had just rolled around in mud all day, but I think it was worth it for everything you got to see. This thrilling adventure is well worth the expense, but you just have to be careful because there are also a lot of people who get pretty beat up from falling off their ATV’s if they did that tour instead. The UTV’s didn’t give us much of a problem but seeing some of the people walking around the hotel you could tell which vehicle they chose for their tour.
