While visiting the city of Florence, Italy our tour group made sure to book us a night out on the town for the experience. We were all taken to a well known night club in Florence where many popular DJ’s have come to perform. This was one of the best night’s out while abroad in Italy as it was the only nightclub the tour group would allow us to go into. It was extremely safe and we all had the time of our lives dancing the night away. Since only a few of us were of the legal drinking age at the time, and because we were part of a tour group they did not allow us to have any alcoholic beverages while at the club. Instead we were given admission with the choice of a soda to drink throughout the night. Although my friends and I were of legal drinking age we were fine with following the tour group rules, and still made sure to make the most of our night out. We got to experience the night life in another country which was unforgettable just based on how much fun my friends and I had. The Space Club had all different lounge area’s in the front and their bar area was clear with a whole fish tank as the counter. After you got through the front part you walked down a narrow hallway and it opened up to the whole dance floor with elevated surfaces, and a first and second floor. The DJ booth was huge and overall it did not disappoint. When we first got there we didn’t even know the whole back area with the dance floor existed and it took some time getting used to everything, but once we got comfortable and a lot more people started to show up it was fun. After walking around and exploring a little we noticed people walking down the narrow hallway and that was when we noticed the second part of the club. We then went back and told everyone else in our tour group which lead to us all dancing the night away together. This was an experience that I would recommend everyone to try if they get the chance. If you are young and ready for fun then this is definitely the place for you. Our tour guides and chaperones also came into the club with us, but they just stayed on the second floor and talked to themselves. This definitely isn’t somewhere people should go if they are over these sort of night life activities as they won’t find it as fun as we did. The Space club is one of the only approved nightclubs the ACIS travel company allows students to get into. Most of the clubs in other countries and even in Italy were not permitted for us to go into from the travel company, so by them allowing this club it meant to us that they deemed it to be safe and a fun time. There is a cover fee when you first get there and it includes one drink, and with the system they have at this club it makes the guests pay for everything at the end of the night. So all of the drinks you get don’t get paid at the bar when you receive them instead you pay for everything when you are ready to leave. Lastly, no matter where you go make sure to watch your drink being made and never take it if you don’t know where it came from, or how it was made. Especially in another country it is always important to stay safe and know your surroundings.
